Know What’s Happening In Your Silos and Bins This Harvest Season

Measuring material levels in storage vessels

Understanding how much material you have in your storage vessels is key to keeping your operations up and running smoothly. Overfilling vessels causes loss of product and increases costs with production delays. Underfilling leaves valuable storage space unused, increasing the overall cost to store the material.

Through our partnership with BinMaster, Wm. Neundorfer & Co. is able to provide highly accurate inventory level measuring equipment, no matter what types of material are being stored or the vessels being used.

No More Climbing Silos

SmartBob2

Designed to work like an automated tape measure these units are installed at the top of the vessel. The SmartBob2 utilizes a heavy-duty motor to lower a stainless-steel cable with a weighted senor at its end down into the vessel until it touches the material housed within. It then retracts up and touches down again to verify the location of the material. With this information the SmartBob2 then sends the data back to be analyzed. Whether its measuring solids, powders, liquids, or slurries, the SmartBob2 provides a powerful, reliable, and affordable way to keep track of your inventory. Safety is also increased when using the sensor as it is no longer necessary to have employees climb to the top of vessels and measure the depth of the material by hand.

Next Level Data

3DLevelScanner

Through the use of low-frequency acoustic dust penetrating technology, the scanners are able to produce accurate inventory levels of up to 1 to 3 percent of the total stored volume, all without contacting the material. By implementing this non-contact technology, the 3DLevelScanner is able to be deployed in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals where contact with the material isn’t permitted. With the 3DLevel Manager Software the scanner can also provide a 3d topographical map of the material surface within the bin with high and low points, as well as cone up, cone down, sidewall buildup, and bridging. This map gives a more detailed overview of the inside of the vessel and allows the user to find and fix any issues quickly.

Multi-Scanner System

Ideal for larger bins, tanks, and silos as well as domes, bunkers, and flat storage warehouses, the Multiple-Scanner System utilizes two or more 3DLevelScanners in combination to provide precise inventory management. By utilizing multiple scanners, this system provides inventory detail in containers that are too large to be covered by a single scanner alone (vessels wider than 45’). The information from all the scanners are synchronized and provide 24/7 real-time data on the vessel’s material. This type of real time data is critical for industrial applications such as ethanol production, cement manufacturing, and more.

Knowing the material levels in storage vessels allows you to make more informed decisions. This knowledge leads to saving time, material, and labor costs which in turn increase your productivity and profits.
